Little Cuba

Neighborhood VC · Vice City Vice-Dale County

Little Cuba is a neighborhood of Vice City in Vice-Dale County, due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. It is portrayed as home to immigrants from across Latin America, most notably Cubans, and takes its name from Cuba just as its inspiration, Miami's Little Havana, is named for the Cuban capital settled largely by exiles who fled after Castro's rise.

GTA IV Name Revision

Grand Theft Auto IV referred to the area as Little Havana, using the name of its 3D Universe counterpart. Grand Theft Auto VI instead identifies it as Little Cuba. The newer name is described as a retcon connected to the neighborhood’s physical depiction in GTA VI.

Leonida and Vespucci Beach have a similar naming connection: Grand Theft Auto IV used their former 3D Universe names as well. Little Havana is therefore the earlier-series term, while Little Cuba is the name attached to the GTA VI version.

Miami Historical Model

Little Cuba draws on Little Havana in Miami, Florida. That real-world neighborhood is associated chiefly with descendants of Cuban exiles and refugees who reached Florida after Fidel Castro took power following the Cuban Revolution of 1959. Havana is Cuba’s capital and largest city, providing the origin of the Little Havana name.

Cheena and Estelle are listed among the neighborhood’s residents. Estelle is deceased.
