Lombank
Bank VC · Vice City
Lombank is a banking company recurring across the HD Universe and expected in Grand Theft Auto VI, operating branches and ATMs throughout the fictional United States, including six around the Liberty City area. Its satirical marketing pushes reckless borrowing with lines like urging customers toward second mortgages and buying islands.
Tequesta tower and LomBike
Lombank’s logo appears on a high-rise office building in Tequesta, Vice City, at 0:36 in the second Grand Theft Auto VI trailer. This is the clearest official promotional appearance of the company in Leonida.
September 2022 leaked GTA VI footage also showed a bicycle docking station in Vice Beach. Its kiosk carried the name “LomBike” and branding resembling Lombank’s, with bicycles already in the docks. The footage points to Lombank backing a bike-share network in that part of Vice City, but the LomBike appearance came from leaks rather than a released trailer.
Miami bike-share connection
LomBike parallels Citi Bike Miami, the Miami-Dade County bicycle-share system sponsored by Citibank. The in-game name also resembles LimeBike, the former name of Lime, though that similarity is presented as apparently coincidental.
Lombank itself draws chiefly from PNC Bank and Citibank. Its visual identity has similarities to the logos of US Bank, Citibank, and HSBC. The company name may refer to London’s Lombard Street, historically associated with merchant trade, banking, and insurance.
Liberty City branch era
In Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Lombank had six locations across the Liberty City metropolitan area: four in Algonquin, one in Broker, and one in Alderney. The Albany Avenue location in Chinatown used distinctive promotional signage, including appeals to try caviar and purchase an island.
Several earlier branch façades were modeled on real bank sites or nearby buildings. The City Hall branch follows a Citibank outlet in Manhattan’s Civic Center, while the North Holland location resembles a condominium in Harlem. Hove Beach takes inspiration from a Chase branch in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.
Los Santos and Vice City
A Grand Theft Auto V radio advertisement promoted Lombank with an interest rate of 33.4 percent. In a Senora Beacon article, journalist Bucy Joe Houston reported that the Federal Investigation Bureau had raided a Vice City Lombank branch in 2013 over drug-money laundering.
The Los Santos-era locations also had specific real-world references. Little Seoul’s branch was based on a Chase site in Los Angeles’s Koreatown, and the Rockford Hills branch recreated a former OneWest Bank location in Beverly Hills.
Online sponsorship and scandals
In Grand Theft Auto Online, Lombank appeared as a smaller sponsor on several vehicle liveries and as the principal sponsor of an LM87 livery. Pavel said he had helped abduct the company’s chief executive from a cruise ship near Cayo Perico.
A Payphone Hit from The Contract involved Franklin Clinton directing the player to kill a corrupt judge. The judge had accepted bribes to throw out a significant fraud case involving a Lombank executive.
