Key Lento
Town LK · Leonida Keys Mariana County
Key Lento is a town due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI, set in the Leonida Keys region of Mariana County. It features in the second trailer and official screenshots as the home of protagonist Jason Duval, who lives there in a stilt house owned by Brian Heder. The town appears to be a rendition of Key Largo, Florida, its name swapping one slow-tempo musical term, 'largo', for another, 'lento'.
Named Local Landmarks
Key Lento has six named points of interest: the Animal Hospital of Key Lento, Brian’s Boat Works & Marina, Chip’s Body Shop, the Key Lento Safehouse, The Rusty Anchor, and Wonder Whale. The material identifies a veterinary location, boat works and marina, an automotive body shop, and a site carrying the safehouse name, but gives no stated services, interiors, missions, vehicles, prices, or ownership details for these locations. The Rusty Anchor and Wonder Whale are named without further description.
Florida Keys References
The town’s Key Largo inspiration extends to geography as well as its name. Key Largo is an unincorporated community on the island also called Key Largo, in the Upper Florida Keys. The shared musical-word comparison is based on lento and largo both indicating a slow tempo. Key Lento does not appear to draw solely from that community: several structures in its western portion seem to take inspiration from Islamorada, Florida. These Florida references are presented as apparent models, rather than confirmed building-for-building recreations.
