Leonida Keys
Archipelago LK · Leonida Keys
The Leonida Keys is an archipelago of tropical islands off the southern coast of Leonida, in southern Mariana County, due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. Bounded by the Gulf of Mexico and the straits of Leonida, the chain forms the southernmost tip of the continental United States within the game's geography. Official marketing pitches it as a laid-back 'gateway to paradise' bordered by beautiful but dangerous waters.
Residents and Causeway Route
Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos, Cal Hampton, and Brian Heder are identified as notable residents of the Leonida Keys. The archipelago is scheduled to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI, with its islands placed in Mariana County.
Access is described through the Keys Causeway, beginning in the southern part of Vice-Dale County. From there, the route curves toward the south-southwest before turning west. Two bridges are associated with the chain: an unnamed rail bridge drawing on Bahia Honda and an unnamed bridge based on the New Bahia Honda crossing.
Florida Keys Inspiration
The Leonida Keys directly reinterpret the Florida Keys, the real island chain south of Florida that is almost wholly within Monroe County. Its position, offshore setting, and causeway-linked route reflect that inspiration, while the Bahia Honda and New Bahia Honda references identify particular Florida Keys bridge influences.
Within Leonida, the Keys lie between the Gulf of Mexico and the straits of Leonida. Hurricane Roxy is implied to have affected the area before the game's events.
