Globe Oil

Gasoline brand PG · Port Gellhorn

Globe Oil is the series' long-standing parody petroleum conglomerate, running filling stations and refineries since Grand Theft Auto IV while in-game satire skewers its environmental record. In Grand Theft Auto VI material, Globe Oil-branded fuel pumps appear at the Gas Stop station in Port Gellhorn seen in the September 2022 leaks, indicating the brand carries over to Leonida.

Port Gellhorn fuel pumps

Grand Theft Auto VI evidence for Globe Oil is limited to the September 2022 leaked footage from Port Gellhorn. The Gas Stop filling station shown there used pumps carrying Globe Oil branding. No standalone Globe Oil station in Leonida had been shown in the material described, and no trailer timestamp, official screenshot, or other promotional appearance is identified.

This places the company’s branding at a Gas Stop location rather than confirming that Gas Stop itself operates as a Globe Oil branch. Port Gellhorn is the only Leonida region connected with Globe Oil in the available GTA VI material.

Gulf, Texaco and global oil

Globe Oil’s name appears intended to evoke “global,” fitting its portrayal as a far-reaching oil monopoly. It chiefly parodies Gulf Oil and Gulf Oil LP: the company names are alike, while Globe Oil’s station signage and pump designs draw from Gulf-style forecourt details, including price boards.

Its visual identity differs from Gulf’s orange-and-blue scheme. The red-and-black treatment instead resembles Texaco’s branding. Gulf-inspired racing colours also appear on several vehicle liveries, including those for the Tyrus, Ellie, Tezeract, and Flash GT. Orange is also used on liveries for the Dune and Toros, although those examples are not presented as Gulf-derived.

Liberty City to San Andreas

Globe Oil first appeared in Grand Theft Auto IV as a fuel retailer with two filling stations: one in Suffolk, Liberty City, and one in Tudor, Alderney. The Tudor station returned in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, where it was among the stations used to make Molotov cocktails.

Its Alderney presence extended beyond retail. The company had offices on Babbage Drive in Berchem, Alderney City, and operated a major refinery at Acter Industrial Park. In The Lost and Damned, its corporate website, globeoil.net, was available in-game.

Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online reduced the described footprint to three San Andreas service stations. Two were in Los Santos and one was in Blaine County. A possible appearance is also associated with the Harmony branch during the Gruppe Sechs Gear Part 1 preparation for The Diamond Casino Heist, where the Stockade may be present.

Corporate products and campaigns

Globe Oil is presented as more than a petrol seller. Alongside petroleum products, it markets personal lubricants and AX_487G high-temperature food-machine grease. Burger Shot and Cluckin’ Bell use that grease.

The company’s political activity includes substantial lobbying in Washington to obstruct energy legislation. It is also described as President Lawton’s largest corporate donor. After the 2013 Liberty City storm, Globe Oil launched a victim fund under the slogan “Warming hearts, not warming oceans.” The campaign promoted denial of climate change while offering to replace vehicles lost in the storm.
