WhatUp!
Instant messaging application ST · Statewide
WhatUp! is an instant messaging app due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI, first betrayed by a 'WhatUp! message received' notification during a Jack of Hearts strip club mission sequence in the September 2022 leaks, implying it lives on the player's phone. An official screenshot of Lucia Caminos later showed the app selected on the home screen of a phone resting beside her on a towel.
Registered web address
A domain named what-up.app surfaced among addresses exposed in the September 2025 GTA VI leak. It had briefly been registered through Take-Two Interactive’s nameservers, providing a web address that appears connected to the WhatUp! application.
The domain uses a hyphenated version of the app’s name rather than the in-game punctuation. Its association is limited to the registration information revealed in that leak; no website content or public-facing service for the address was described.
WhatsApp inspiration
WhatUp! is presented as a direct Grand Theft Auto parody of WhatsApp, the real-world instant-messaging service. The connection is indicated by the name itself: “WhatUp!” closely echoes “WhatsApp,” while shifting the wording into the series’ fictional brand style.
Beyond that naming parallel and its classification as an instant-messaging application, no specific WhatsApp feature has been identified for WhatUp!. There are no stated details on conversations, contacts, group messaging, calls, media sharing, account setup, pricing, or other functions.
