Tequesta

Neighborhood VC · Vice City Vice-Dale County

Tequesta is a neighborhood of Vice City in Vice-Dale County, Leonida, due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI; its name was first confirmed on a Route 3 overhead guide sign in Downtown Vice City shown in a promotional-website screenshot. It appears to be based on Miami's Brickell district, and its name honors the Tequesta, a Native American people who once lived along Florida's southeastern coast near Biscayne Bay.

Route 3 Signage

Tequesta was identified on an overhead Route 3 guide sign in Downtown Vice City. The sign appeared in a screenshot published through the game’s promotional website. The material shown does not name any streets within the neighborhood or show its boundaries.

Two locations associated with Tequesta have been identified: the Lombank Building and an unnamed complex resembling Brickell on the River.

Brickell References

Its Miami inspiration extends to local Tequesta references around Brickell. A bronze statue depicting a Tequesta Indian stands on the Brickell Avenue Bridge, while Brickell Key contains the Tequesta Point high-rise complex.

The historic Tequesta people inhabited Florida’s southeastern shoreline, especially the area around Biscayne Bay beside present-day Brickell.
