Brakes and brake fluids VC · Vice City
Halt is a German brake systems company from Grand Theft Auto Online's Los Santos Tuners update that is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. Its name is the German word for 'stop', fitting its made-in-Germany brakes and brake fluid. A Halt banner identical to the one decorating GTA Online Auto Shops appeared in the September 2022 GTA VI leaks.
Vice City Visual Appearances
Two distinct visual records place Halt in Vice City. Footage from the September 2022 GTA VI leaks showed a Halt banner on the fence of an auto-repair shop in La Perle, a Vice City neighborhood. The sign was suspended above a Fixup banner. In the first GTA VI trailer, another use occurs at 1:05: the Halt logo appears as a livery sponsor on a green, customized Sanchez.
Auto Shop Decoration History
Before the Vice City material, GTA Online used the company’s imagery as Auto Shop decoration. The purchasable Undressed interior style contained a Halt tagline banner. Nostalgia Trip, another purchasable Auto Shop interior style, instead included a vintage Halt sign. The leak banner in La Perle used the same design as the GTA Online banner, linking the Vice City sighting to that earlier interior item. The trailer moves the branding from shop décor to motorcycle livery.
Hella Branding Influence
Halt’s stated real-world influence is Hella, a German automotive-parts supplier. The comparison rests on similar branding, rather than Hella appearing under its own name in the game. GTA material uses the fictional Halt identity on Auto Shop decorations, at the La Perle repair shop, and on the Sanchez sponsor livery.
