Daewang

At approximately 1:16 in the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, Daewang branding appears on the EAS anti-theft detectors at the entrance to Uncle Jack's Liquor. The trailer identifies the company through equipment used at the store doorway rather than through a named product advertisement.

This appearance confirms Daewang as an electronics manufacturer within GTA VI. No trailer timestamp, screenshot, promotional region, model range, price, variant, or gameplay function beyond the detectors’ anti-theft role has been identified.

Daewang’s name is Korean for “great king.” Its apparent real-world inspiration is Daewoo, specifically the company’s former electronics division, which is now known as Winia Electronics. The connection is based on the similarity of the names rather than an explicitly stated in-game affiliation.

Before GTA VI, the name appeared in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition, printed on a fax machine. That Definitive Edition appearance is treated as outside the main San Andreas canon. GTA VI therefore marks the brand’s first stated role in the series as the maker of EAS anti-theft equipment.
