Pißwasser
Alcohol brand ST · Statewide
Pißwasser is a cheap German export lager that has been a running joke in the HD Universe, advertised as an 11% ABV "fighting lager" and tradeable on BAWSAQ in Grand Theft Auto V. Its name literally translates to "piss water," the classic insult for watery beer, and the brand is expected to continue into Grand Theft Auto VI.
GTA VI Store Presence
Pißwasser appears to be sold at Uncle Jack’s Liquor and 24/7 in Grand Theft Auto VI. Those are the only GTA VI-specific locations identified for the beer; no trailer timestamp, screenshot placement, regional distribution, price, or new product variant is specified.
The appearance establishes Pißwasser as a retail alcohol brand in Leonida rather than identifying a brewery, warehouse, delivery fleet, or drinkable interior for the new game. Earlier appearances supply those kinds of details, but they do not confirm equivalent GTA VI features.
Liberty City to San Andreas
In Grand Theft Auto IV, the company operated from a small warehouse on Chicory Street in BOABO, Liberty City. Pißwasser signs marked the building, and the brand had Yankee trucks in its fleet.
Grand Theft Auto V gave the company a larger factory in San Andreas, while its transport presence changed to Mule trucks and stationary trailers. The beer could be consumed at the Clinton Residence and at Trevor’s trailer. Grand Theft Auto Online expanded its availability to convenience stores and safehouses, and included a Pißwasser beer hat among Independence Day Special crate rewards.
Beer, Ice, and Labels
Pißwasser’s principal real-world comparison is Budweiser. Its commercials and brand identity draw on that American beer, while the advertising music specifically parodies Budweiser’s “This is Budweiser, This is Beer” campaign. The newer Pißwasser Ice product is a particularly direct Bud Ice reference, using closely matching colours and a near-identical logo treatment.
Other parts of the presentation point to different European beers. The logo and bottle design resemble Perlenbacher, while the bottle labels are similar to Grafenwalder’s. The type used in the Pißwasser logo is Delima MT. Bar taps carry an “Ü-Rhine” badge, combining a Rhine reference with the brand’s recurring urine joke.
Commercials and Product Gags
The in-game Pißwasser website claims that its recipe uses urine from Bavarian virgins, then undercuts the claim by admitting that this may only be what the company says. Billboards extend the same gag, at times implying that the bottles may contain urine alone. The wording of the main tagline turns “urine” into a pun, and the tap badge repeats it.
Radio and television spots use a singer presented as a stereotypical American redneck. Their lyrics portray drinking through deliberately excessive consequences, including unsafe driving, drug use, vomiting, violence, and sexual humiliation. One commercial frames the beer with aggressively patriotic rhetoric; another ends by calling it a German fighting lager. Pißwasser also sponsored Republican Space Rangers in 2008.
Heraldry and Race Signage
The brand’s heraldic mark uses a shield topped by a mural crown. Its saltire matches the arms associated with the House of Neville, Villaz-Saint-Pierre in Switzerland, and Carnières in France. The saltire may also allude to Scotland, the home country of Rockstar North.
In Grand Theft Auto Online stunt races, Pißwasser hoarding props use red and blue striping modelled on BMW M colours. GTA V’s television commercial used stock footage of drunken pedestrians from both Grand Theft Auto V and Rockstar San Diego’s work to depict the advertisement’s American-heartland drinkers.
