Perseus

High-end clothing and accessories ST · Statewide

Perseus is a high-end fashion label and clothing store chain recurring in the series, having served as the most upscale of Liberty City's three accessible clothing shops in Grand Theft Auto IV. Certain GTA IV missions required buying its suits, and the brand is now catalogued among those tied to Grand Theft Auto VI.

GTA VI Leak Appearance

Perseus was visible in the September 2022 Grand Theft Auto VI leaks. The sighting was limited to a coat rack displaying upscale handbags and other accessories: one bag carried a chain with a revised version of the brand’s winged-P emblem.

No trailer timestamp, official promotional image, named Leonida location, store interior, purchasable inventory, or confirmed gameplay function for Perseus in GTA VI is identified. The leaked accessory display is the only described GTA VI evidence.

Fashion House Inspirations

The label draws on Versace and Hermès. Its name invokes Perseus, the Greek mythological hero who killed Medusa, while Versace’s emblem uses Medusa’s head. Perseus himself also appears in the in-game branding.

The logo’s overall treatment is compared with Hermès’ logo, and both names come from classical mythology. The GTA V Portola Drive shop was modelled on a Beverly Hills location that closely matched the building when Bulgari occupied it before 2014.

Liberty City Retail Role

In Grand Theft Auto IV, Perseus was one of the three clothing chains available to the player in Liberty City, alongside the Russian Shop and Modo. It occupied the luxury end of that group. Its premises used an elegant retail design, with two clothing rows, further garments on the walls, and no conventional cash register visible.

Marcus worked as the sales assistant, with a guard also present. Marcus reacted positively to Perseus items worn by Niko but criticized clothing bought elsewhere, even when only part of an outfit came from another retailer. Drawing a weapon prompted the guard to demand that it be used or put away. If Marcus was attacked, he fled and the guard began fighting Niko. Killing both staff by forcing them into fixtures did not bring a wanted level, although the game warned that clothing could not be bought without someone left to operate the register.

Jazz Nation Radio 108.5 played in the GTA IV stores. In Episodes from Liberty City, entering through a glitch instead produced Electro-Choc. Carmen Ortiz and Alex Chilton preferred Niko in Perseus clothing, while Brucie Kibbutz texted him after Algonquin became available, urging him to look like a VIP and shop there. A Perseus phone theme was also downloadable through Vipluxuryringtones.com.

Suits, Versions, and Missions

Perseus sold complete suits with trousers and an upper portion together, unlike the offerings at Modo and the Russian Shop. Separate slacks and shoes remained available. Buying a full suit replaced Niko’s previously worn separate top and bottom automatically, but the individual suit components could later be mixed with items purchased from the other two shops or changed through the wardrobe.

Some stock differed by platform. Console turtleneck suits became three-button jacket-and-vest suits on PC; the ordinary three-piece suit jacket was open on consoles and closed on PC. Console loafers and suede bucks were replaced by oxfords and suede wingtips on PC, generally retaining their colour schemes. GTA IV required a Perseus suit during the latter part of Final Interview, as well as Three Leaf Clover, Undertaker, Pegorino’s Pride, and Mr. & Mrs. Bellic. The stores were unavailable in The Lost and Damned, The Ballad of Gay Tony, and Chinatown Wars.

Los Santos and Online

Grand Theft Auto V placed an inaccessible Perseus storefront on Portola Drive at Dorset Drive in Los Santos, while billboards advertised the name elsewhere in the city. Nothing could be purchased there. Tracey’s yellow Issi used the custom plate “P3RSEUS.”

Grand Theft Auto Online added a Perseus-inspired vinyl for the Enus Windsor in the Ill-Gotten Gains Part 1 update. During that update’s Weekend Special, Special Crate Drops could contain a T-shirt carrying an imitation Perseus logo.
