Ocean Beach
Neighborhood VC · Vice City Vice-Dale County
Ocean Beach is a neighborhood at the southern end of Vice Beach in Vice-Dale County, Leonida, due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. Its signature feature is a beachfront thoroughfare lined with Art Deco hotels and restaurants, clearly evoking Miami Beach's famous strip. The area featured heavily in the September 2022 leaks, including test footage of a placeholder Ocean Beach Police Department uniform.
Official GTA VI appearances
Ocean Beach was shown in Grand Theft Auto VI’s first trailer, which provided views of several of its landmarks. Rockstar’s promotional website also names Ocean Beach in its description of Vice City, confirming the neighborhood in official material.
Earlier footage from the September 2022 leaks placed the Vice Beach clips in Ocean Beach. A separate debug menu included Ocean Beach among its listed world events.
South Beach inspiration
The neighborhood is modeled on South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida. Its beachfront main road draws from South Beach’s Ocean Drive, while the hotel-and-restaurant strip reflects the Art Deco buildings associated with that area.
Its name follows the same Ocean Drive-derived naming approach used for its 3D Universe counterpart.
Named hotels and locations
Locations identified in Ocean Beach include the Atlantis Hotel, Bayfront Heights, Boardwalk Hotel, Cordelia Hotel, Hotel Dixon, Neptune Hotel, Ocean View Hotel, and Seahorse Hotel. An unnamed hotel appears to take inspiration from Scarface.
