MeTV

Music and entertainment television network VC · Vice City

MeTV, short for Music Entertainment Television, is a music and entertainment channel that has been referenced across the series since Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories and is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. In its earliest incarnation it was represented mainly by MeTV News, a faux news outlet on the official Vice City Stories website hosted by Jenny Mitchell. Little has been revealed about how the station will feature in the new game.

GTA VI cable listing

MeTV appeared on a cable-television guide visible inside the Jack of Hearts strip club in footage from the September 2022 Grand Theft Auto VI leaks. This is the only described GTA VI sighting: no trailer timestamp, official promotional appearance, programming details, or other Leonida location is identified.

Later-series appearances

In Grand Theft Auto IV, the network had a visible Liberty City office at Star Junction in Algonquin, known as the MeTV Building. Players could download an MeTV theme from Vipluxuryringtones.com, while Lazlow referred on Integrity 2.0 to an MeTV programme in which former comedians made sarcastic remarks, echoing VH1's I Love the '80s.

Grand Theft Auto V gave the channel more defined programming. A billboard promoted its show Prison Bitches. Its Bleeter account announced the cancellations of Hot Horny Teen Moms and Redneck Racists, while renewing Tourettes Swingers for another season.

Television-network influences

Music Entertainment Television draws chiefly on MTV and E! as a spoof music-and-entertainment broadcaster. Its logo also resembles that of MyNetworkTV. The similarly named real American channel MeTV is treated as a coincidental resemblance rather than the stated basis for the fictional network.
