Xero

Gasoline brand AM · Ambrosia

Xero Gas is the GTA series' petroleum company that, unlike rivals RON, Globe Oil, and Terroil, ran no gas stations in Liberty City, instead operating a refinery at the Acter Industrial Park in Alderney. An abandoned Xero warehouse and faded tank branding around Liberty City suggest the firm relocated its refining operations there from an earlier site.

Ambrosia Filling Station

Xero is shown as a gasoline location in Ambrosia, Leonida, in an official Grand Theft Auto VI website screenshot. This is the confirmed GTA VI appearance identified for the brand in promotional material. The site is a filling station rather than one of Xero’s industrial facilities or racing advertisements seen in earlier games.

Clewiston Chevron Reference

The Ambrosia station is based on a former Chevron service station in Clewiston, Florida. That real-world property is now occupied by Gator Tires Center. The connection fits Xero’s established visual borrowing from Chevron: its X incorporates red and blue arrow-like forms comparable to Chevron’s emblem.

The brand also draws on Exxon in its name and logo colours. Xero’s name plays on “zero gas,” while its older oval mark recalls Esso branding, with blue and white around red lettering. The vintage design has also been compared with older Total imagery and with Amoco and Tamoil logos.

Rockridge Leak Appearance

A second Leonida Xero station appeared in the September 2022 GTA VI leaks, rather than in official promotional material. It was seen in Rockridge, across the street from Fleeca Field. This location was modelled on a Valero gas station in Miami, Florida.

The Ambrosia site and the leaked Rockridge site are the two Xero filling stations shown in Leonida so far. The material does not identify prices, fuel grades, services, vehicle modifications, or gameplay functions for either GTA VI station.

San Andreas Retail Network

Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online gave Xero a broader retail presence, with five filling stations across San Andreas. Those stations were inaccessible, but commonly contained ATMs and jerry cans. Xero also operated an industrial building on Greenwich Parkway at Los Santos International Airport and a Blaine County refinery.

In those games, Xero was a prominent motorsport sponsor alongside companies including RON and LTD. Its branding served as a main sponsor on the Rapid GT Classic, Sentinel Classic, Jester Classic, Comet Retro Custom and Lynx in the enhanced edition. It also appeared on the Xero Blimp and on race-livery variants of the Jester and Massacro.

Brand Rivals and Variants

Xero has been positioned among petroleum competitors such as RON, Globe Oil and Terroil. Its GTA V-era racing involvement included the Sentinel Classic’s Xero to Hero livery and a Xero treatment for the Comet Retro Custom. These designs have been linked to Mobil racing liveries, reflecting Exxon and Mobil’s 1999 merger into ExxonMobil.

The company’s footprint has changed between settings. In Liberty City, Xero branding remained on storage tanks, old advertisements and some Bati Custom designs, while its more visible San Andreas role included filling stations and sponsorships. A Xero shipment was reportedly taken by pirates at some point in 2022.
