Schyster
Automotive manufacturer ST · Statewide
Schyster is an American automotive manufacturer recurring in the HD Universe, lampooned in-game as a maker of unreliable mid-range cars that hemorrhage value, "owned by Germans, bailed out by Americans." The brand chiefly parodies Chrysler, with a badge reminiscent of Plymouth, and trades on BAWSAQ under the ticker SHT. It is expected to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI.
GTA VI Trailer Sighting
A green PMP 700 appeared in the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer with a revised Schyster emblem. The updated badge resembles Chrysler’s winged-style corporate mark. No trailer timestamp, region, screenshot, or other promotional appearance is identified for Schyster.
Design Influences and Shared Bodies
Schyster is principally modeled on Chrysler. The Deviant departs from that pattern, drawing instead from an AMC vehicle. Its older emblem has been compared with a circular saw blade, a possible visual joke tied to the company name, and it also has similarities to Chrysler’s Pentastar design.
The Schyster Minivan uses the same body design as the Cabby, even though the Minivan is manufactured by Vapid. The name may combine “shyster,” meaning an unethical or unprofessional operator, with the German word “Scheiße”; the latter reading is also associated with the SHT stock symbol and the company’s German ownership.
