Shark (company)
Credit Card Company ST · Statewide
Shark is a credit card company in the series' HD Universe, mocked in-game as selling "lifetime membership to the debt slavery club." Its name plays on "loan shark," and its stock can be bought on the BAWSAQ exchange in Grand Theft Auto V. The brand is among those catalogued for Grand Theft Auto VI.
GTA VI Trailer Storefront
Shark appears in Grand Theft Auto VI’s first trailer on the entrance door of Uncle Jack’s Liquor. Its mark is shown beside Limit, Want, and Fruit Pay, placing it among the payment services displayed at that store.
Cash Cards and Advertising
Grand Theft Auto V radio advertising describes Shark’s Cash Cards, with each card named for a shark species and aimed at different spending habits. Grand Theft Auto Online sells these cards for different amounts of real-world money.
An earlier related name, Shark Loans, appeared in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. During races viewed through the Inside Track computer, an advertisement at the lower-left of the screen reads, “Shark Loans: Just Don’t Lose!” At Star Junction, a shark-head model projects from a building as an advertisement; its design may reference the shark imagery in Jaws or the Jaws 19 hologram from Back to the Future Part II.
Definitive Edition ATMs
Shark is also displayed on ATMs in The Definitive Edition trilogy alongside Fleeca, Want, and Limit. These HD Universe brand placements in those remasters are treated as non-canon to the HD Universe.
