Dominion Hotel
Hotel VC · Vice City
The Dominion Hotel is a hotel due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI on Vice Beach's Ocean Drive-style strip, first seen at a distance in the first trailer's title card and shown more clearly in the second trailer, complete with a ground-floor restaurant and outdoor seating. It is modeled on the Cardozo Hotel at 1300 Ocean Drive in South Beach, and its name riffs on that hotel's namesake, the jurist Benjamin N. Cardozo.
Second Trailer Close-Up
The clearest promotional view of the Dominion Hotel appears at 2:05 in Grand Theft Auto VI’s second trailer. That shot follows the more distant title-card appearance in the first trailer and places the building along Vice Beach’s Ocean Drive-inspired streetscape. The footage identifies the property as part of Vice City’s hotel-lined beachfront setting rather than showing it in another Leonida region.
Name’s Legal Reference
Its fictional name draws on Benjamin N. Cardozo beyond the real hotel’s surname. Cardozo served as an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and the word “Dominion” comes from his discussion of a parent company’s control over a subsidiary. In that reasoning, control can become extensive enough that the parent is treated as the principal and the subsidiary as its agent.
