Blarneys Stout
Alcohol Beverage ST · Statewide
Blarneys Stout is the HD Universe's Irish stout, nominally established in 1758 and long served in bars like Steinway Beer Garden and Lucky Winkles and sold through Rob's Liquor, 24/7, and LTD stores, with a distribution center in Port Tudor. The brand is expected to return in Grand Theft Auto VI.
Guinness and Blarney Stone
Blarneys Stout mirrors Guinness, the Irish beer founded in 1759. Its stated 1758 establishment date sits one year earlier, while its Irish identity and name point toward the Blarney Stone in County Cork. The brand’s logo uses the Victorian Std typeface.
Its advertising adapts Guinness imagery: a puffin holding a cigarette grips a glass beside the line “Have a puff’n a pint.” This replaces Guinness’s toucan motif and plays on “pint” as beer-serving slang and “puff” as smoking slang.
Advertising and Vinewood Museum
Earlier games placed Blarneys advertising around the state. Grand Theft Auto V also gave the brewer a Vinewood Boulevard attraction, Blarneys World of Awesome. The museum’s Hollywood inspiration was the Guinness World of Records museum.
Numerous flattened Blarneys cans appeared around Trevor’s trailer in Grand Theft Auto V. In The Cayo Perico Heist-era GTA Online material, a Still Slipping Los Santos sponsor advertisement named Blarneys as a drink available at the Mirror Park Tavern.
Online Beer Hat Glitch
GTA Online initially tied a Blarneys Beer Hat to special crates during the Independence Day Special. A glitch prevented normal collection of that hat and the separate J’s Lager hat. The Blarneys hat later became available to players who logged in during the March 2020 Part 3 GTA Online Bonuses weekend.
