Vice City Sign

The Vice City Sign is a landmark due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI: a large metal framework carrying white letters spelling 'VICE CITY' at one end of the runways of Vice City International Airport in Vice-Dale County. It features in a sun-drenched time-lapse in the first trailer with an airport radar tower behind it, and it appears to be modeled on a similarly styled sign familiar as a recurring movie prop.
First Trailer Airport Shot
Grand Theft Auto VI’s first trailer shows the Vice City Sign at 0:40, during a time-lapse shot. The image places it beside the runway area at Vice City International Airport in Vice-Dale County, within the Vice City region of Leonida.
The trailer view is lit by strong sunshine and includes an airport radar tower in the distance. The sign is presented as a freestanding metal support carrying oversized white lettering, rather than as lettering fixed directly to an airport building.
Miami Film Prop Connection
Its design appears to draw from a “MIAMI” sign made as a reusable film prop for scenes at the end of Miami International Airport’s runways. That prop used large white letters on a comparable structure and appeared in films made from the mid-1990s into the early 2000s.
The Miami prop was used for Bad Boys, Bad Boys 2, and Transporter 2. It measured 50 feet across and 15 feet tall, and a new version was constructed separately for each of those productions. No earlier Grand Theft Auto appearance, gameplay function, variant, price, manufacturer, or modification is identified for the Vice City Sign.
