Peyote Plants were one of GTA 5’s strangest and best-loved collectibles: 27 glowing plants that, when eaten, triggered a hallucination letting you play as a random animal — a bird, a dog, even a whale — with a rare golden plant unlocking Bigfoot.
In a Leonida already confirmed to be teeming with alligators, sharks, deer, and flamingos, a wildlife-transformation collectible would fit the map perfectly.
How it worked in past GTA games
Added to GTA 5, the 27 Peyote Plants turned a simple pickup hunt into the series’ most memorable animal-play feature: each plant let you roam as a different creature, and finding the special golden peyote in the right conditions let you become Sasquatch. It tied the collectible layer directly to the game’s wildlife and its Bigfoot easter egg.
What to expect in GTA 6
Reasonable expectations based on series history — not confirmed GTA 6 facts.
- A collectible that plugs into Leonida’s wildlife — the state’s alligators, sharks, and birds are obvious candidates to “become.”
- Placement in the wild edges of the map: the Grassrivers wetlands, Mount Kalaga’s forests, and the coastline.
- A rare or special variant tied to a secret transformation, the way GTA 5’s golden peyote unlocked Bigfoot.
- The real plant count and map, confirmed only when GTA 6 is out.

Will GTA 6 have Peyote Plants?
Unconfirmed. Peyote Plants were a GTA 5 addition. Given GTA 6’s heavy focus on wildlife, an animal-transformation collectible would fit — but Rockstar has announced nothing, so treat it as expectation.
Can you play as animals in GTA 6?
